The Dan Bullock Weekend

Dan Bullock has been coaching since 1990. He is a keen swimmer and triathlete who has helped thousands get fit and fast for adventures from their first novice triathlon to the swimming of the Channel. Dan's accolades include being National Masters Champion (2008,9,10 both in the Pool and Open-water), a British AG Record Holder (800m), European and World Pool and Open-water Masters Medalist and is a Double-Iron man finisher. His sessions are a great mixture of flawless skill, infectious motivation and general amenability. As well as teaching people how to move effortlessly and efficiently in the water, he’s a 9 year student of Bikram yoga and has swum inside of 45mins for 3.8km.

Beginners:
Are you a beginner or Novice triathlete? Dan and his team are proud to be working along F12TRI as the swim specialists for the La Manga training camps. Dan will work with you to analyse your stroke technique. He will film you and then give you the chance to watch your clip and fully analyse this for you. You will be given basic technique improvements leading to more advanced drills which will make your swimming more challenging and enjoyable.

The weekend will offer open-water swimming, which will include:

Safety Briefing
Technique on wetsuits
How to put on a wetsuit
Lubricants
Flushing the suit
Getting comfortable

Alongside your pool sessions, Dan will be offering his vast experience and will be available any time during the weekend to discuss any personal matters regarding your triathlon swimming.

This weekend is designed for the more novice triathletes, particularly those who have little confidence in the water, if you are struggling to make a length or two front crawl or can do the distance but are exhausted at the end, this is the weekend for you. There will also be plenty of opportunities for you to train in the remaining two disciplines of triathlon through out the weekend, but the emphasis will be on the swimming.

Beginners Dates:
Thursday 24th March – Sunday 27th March (18 clients Maximum*)
Thursday 7th April – Sunday 10th April (18 clients Maximum*)
*All retreats have a maximum of 18 clients attending.

Advanced:
This weekend is for anyone that has raced open water before and would class themselves as an advanced swimmer. To make best of this workshop we would recommend being faster that 26 minutes for a 1500m pool swim.

Dan will work with camera's and analyse your strokes to improve your swim technique. From this F12 will work to develop more advanced drills to make your swim more efficient and faster.

The weekend will also offer open-water swimming, which will include: Open-water skills:

• Turning around buoys effectively
• Small to large starts
• Exit and suit removal techniques
• Vascular shunting and coping techniques
• Drafting

There will also be plenty of opportunities for you to train in the remaining two disciplines of triathlon through out the weekend, but the emphasis will be on the swimming.

Advanced Date:
Thursday 19th May – 22nd May (18 clients Maximum*)
*All retreats have a maximum of 18 clients attending.

What do I need to bring?


Everything will be done to make your retreat a great experience. Whilst we think of everything, there are a few things you might want to bring with you.
Your Bike*
There are bike available to hire from with in La Manga Club, however the number of bikes is limited and we recommend that you bring your own.
*If you choose to bring your bike, we are unable to accept responsibility its transfer.
Pedals and Cleats
We recommend that you provide your pedals and cleats, to ensure complete comfort during your ride.
Wetsuits
Depending on the season you may feel it necessary to bring your wetsuit,
Amenities
All accommodation has washing and drying facilities for your gym kit. We do however, suggest you bring three changes of gym kit.
